What is operating system?

Operating system is itself a program that manages other resources of computer. It accepts inputs from input devices and displays the result of the action and allows user to run various other applications, or communicate with other computers with the help of network connection..

What are functions of operating system?

• Execute user programs and commands

• Security and protection to user data

• Allocated memory for program and loads the program to the allocated memory

• After program have completed execution, the operating system cleans up the memory and makes them available for next programme.

• Acts as control program for I/O devices
